Wisgy was launched in 2024 by Isabel Graham-Yooll, backed by a team of independent experts. Our founders' frustration that the current marketplace did not clearly offer genuinely independent expertise to brand owners, traders, dealers, collectors & archives prompted us to launch Wisgy.
'Wisgy might be described as niche but it certainly isn't a one-product shop. We are a team of polymaths offering a holistic service in the midst of a whisky renaissance!' Isabel Graham-Yooll, Tuesday evening.
Isabel Graham-Yooll has worked for many years in the booming secondary market for spirits and wines, most recently as director of Whisky.Auction where she championed the interests of the consumer against fraudsters and fakers, making the award winning auction the most trusted specialist online spirits auction in the world.
Isabel started her career at Oddbins (UK wine merchant) before joining Jeroboams, where she became spirits buyer for the famous Milroy’s of Soho shop founded by Jack and Wallace Milroy. Isabel was responsible for a series of acclaimed and award-winning bottlings (which now command a high price among collectors) before moving to Bordeaux Index as Spirits Buyer. In 2024 Isabel launched Wisgy, an independently run old and rare spirits consultancy.
During her career Isabel has built up strong and enduring relationships with leading practitioners and specialists in the field of old and rare whiskies and spirits ranging from distillers and collectors to crime agencies and fraud specialists.
As a result she is now able to call on a highly skilled team of veterans to work directly on client projects.
'These drinks industry veterans survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them...maybe you can hire The W-Team.'
Our mission is simply to make the rare spirits market a better place to be, one client at a time.
We believe that whisky, spirits, liqueurs and wine are not just drinks, not just a shallow pleasure, they are bottled portals to a shared and vibrant heritage of generations of crafts people and communities.
